Hotter than usual October records heatwave

Last month was characterised as being a hot month with the average air temperatures being well above what would be considered normal, the Portuguese Met Office revealed in a statement released this week. According to Portugal’s weathermen, the average maximum temperature in the country was 2.7ºC above averages established for the period 1971 to 2000, while minimums were 1.5ºC above their usual figures.

A number of days were registered where thermometers climbed to beyond 25ºC during the month of October nationwide. In the south, several days witnessed temperatures in excess of 30ºC.

Furthermore, the higher than normal temperatures resulted in the Met Office declaring a heatwave that lasted from October 10 to October 18.

Despite the warm weather, meteorologists said rainfall for last month was in accordance with established averages.

O o o o die klimaatverandering toch. Ik zeg: lekker ZONNETJEEE! Jullie krijgen snel weer een serieus berichtje!

  1. Paul,

Waarschijnlijk is de klimaatverandering een groot kletsverhaal en verschaft het kwalitatief onbesproken Portugese bier, inzicht, visie en objectiviteit. Proost.
